Meet Jeevan - Director of Marketing Services, proud dad, and animal lover.

Born and raised in Queens, New York, Jeevan started working for Vector in 2011 as the first marketing employee. He started off doing a little bit of everything, and moved from his position as SEO Specialist to Senior Internet Marketing Strategist to his current position as Director of Marketing Services. I sat down with Jeevan and talked about education, technology, family, and what he loves about working at Vector:

Q: How did you get started working in technology?
A: I went to Thomas Edison High School in Jamaica, Queens, where I signed up for the Cisco Certified Network Professionals (CCNP) program that had just started. That program gave me a lot of freelance opportunities, and from there I went to New York Institute of Technology in Long Island and studied Business Management/MIS.

Q: What did you do before you started working here?
A: I was working in IT at a point of sales company, and as a Freelance SEO Specialist. When my wife and I found out we were pregnant, I decided to pursue SEO full time.

Q: What is your favorite thing about working at Vector?
A: The company culture, the people, and the clients. Most of our clients have a good understanding of what we do and why it is important.

Q: What makes Vector different from other places you may have worked?
A: It is a non-corporate atmosphere, and the owners are very involved

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why?
A: Sergey Brin & Larry Page, the co-founders of Google. I would like to know their vision of the future.

Q: If you were put in charge of the office playlist, what would it include?
A: Reggae & Hip Hop

Q: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
A: India - I've never been and would like to know where my ancestors came from.

Q: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
A: Captain Crunch

Q: What is your favorite food spot in New York?
A: O Lavrador in Jamaica, Queens. They’ve got great Portuguese food and awesome sangria.

Q: What are you currently binge-watching on Netflix?
A: Don't really binge watch, but I have re-watched The Sopranos multiple times. I prefer to watch it as it is happening.

Q: What is something that people might not guess about you?
A: I love animals. My favorite animal is the tiger — I have donated money to help save endangered tigers.

Q: If you were in charge of planning Vector’s next employee event, what would you do?
A: Silicon Valley tour

Q: Describe your ideal day off:
A: Just lounging around playing with my four year old son, Jase. He’s really into cars right now, and I think he’s kind of a jock. I like watching him learn about everything.
