Our team is composed of many different people with unique backgrounds, experiences, and skills. Each person brings new elements to the table that are essential in creating a well-rounded company. In this series of blog posts, we hope to let our readers get to know our team as well as we do. From what they do both inside and outside of the office to their tastes in TV and music, these posts are a chance to learn about about what makes our team members tick.

Meet Maggie - bookkeeper, office manager, outdoor enthusiast, improviser, and dog lover.

Hailing from Massachusetts, Maggie started working for Vector in 2015. After working as a Senior Accountant at a government consulting company, she became Vector’s bookkeeper and office manager. I sat down with Maggie to talk about the outdoors, her dog Bosco, and what she loves about working at Vector.

Q: Where did you go to school and what did you study?
A: I went to St. John’s University and graduated with a B.S. in Accounting & M.S. in Taxation

Q: How has your job evolved since working at Vector?
A: I started working as a bookkeeper/office manager. My job has grown to include HR, office administration, and operations.

Q: What kinds of projects do you find the most rewarding?
A: I like planning company events - we’ve had movie nights, happy hours, and other team bonding activities. I started & captained our kickball team. Next we are doing Escape the Room!

Q: What is your favorite thing about working at Vector?
A: The people - Matt, Lee, Stu, & Nick are involved in daily operations and provide a product and services they believe in.

Q: If you were put in charge of the office playlist, what would it include?
A: On my first day, Matt asked me about my taste in music and then banned me from using Sonos. My normal playlists include a lot of Justin Bieber (an office favorite) and Taylor Swift.

Q: What are some interesting facts about yourself?
A: I do improv comedy (nobody can believe that!), I love soccer (go, Red Bulls!), and I LOVE MY DOG.

Q: Tell me about your dog!
A: Bosco is a Labradoodle that I’ve had for 2 years! My father-in-law has Bosco’s brother, Charlie.

Q: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?
A: Avocados or tacos (or both, together), or cereal (mainly Ezekiel Almond).

Q: What is your favorite spot in New York?
A: The bridle path in Central Park - it’s my favorite place to run.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I love to run, hike, and ride my bike! I also LOVE reading and read at least one book a week. I am also very active in my fantasy baseball league with my team, Boscolo Colon [a play on Bartolo Colon & my dog, Bosco]. I came in second out of ten teams in the regular season!

Q: Describe your ideal day off:
A: I like waking up early, so I tend to wake up at 6AM even on off days. I’ll get up and run early, and then go home and relax with a nice cup of coffee. Then, I love taking Bosco for a walk to the dog park or going on a hike. Bosco LOVES hiking and is an expert at rock scrambles.
