Our team's ability to build engaging digital annual reports was recently lauded by the Interactive Media Council, Inc. (IMC), a nonprofit organization of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers, and web professionals. View our award-winning work for the Associated Press (AP).
In the seventh annual Interactive Media Awards™ (IMAs), Vector Media Group was awarded the 2013 Q2 Best in Class Award for a digital annual report in the Association/Nonprofit category. This distinction is the highest honor bestowed by the IMC for agencies that have achieved a perfect or near perfect overall score on their submission. Winners such as Vector Media Group have exceled in all areas of the judging criteria including the highest standards of professionalism, cross-browser compatibility, and impeccable planning and execution.
“This is one of the world’s most well executed websites… The IMAs are designed to elevate the standards of excellence on the Internet,” notes the IMC, in regard to the Best in Class winners.
The Award Winning Website
Annual reports have been through an overhaul. It’s no secret that these investor communications have been transitioning from print to interactive PDFs and, these days, to full HTML websites. This trend has taken off quickly with Vector Media Group at the forefront after creating digital annual reports for both electronics corporation Acer and audience-buying company Xaxis. In spring 2013, the Associated Press, the world’s largest newsgathering organization, released their first-ever digital annual report by relying on Vector Media Group. The tech team optimized for mobile, social sharing, and search. With a dropdown top nav, readers navigated through 15 videos and 50+ photos intuitively. In addition, the tech team used the foundations of Responsive Design – scaling, text-wrapping, CSS media queries and fluid widths – to ensure every video, photo and story would ease into the correct screen size.
“It’s not easy to win a web award from the IMA, but the top-ranked team at Vector Media Group has achieved that honor,” noted Co-founder and President of Technology Matt Weinberg.
